This wine comes from the estate Klein Constantia, which was founded in 1685 by Simon Van Der Stel, who was the first Dutch governor of Cape Town. The winery was bought in 1980 by the Jooste family, who for a number of years spent a lot of money and a lot of time to once again get the Klein Constantia name spread throughout the great wine world. Klein Constantia is located a few kilometers outside Cape Town, where fields of vines undulate down the hillsides in a climate perfect for making great wines. The wine is made from 86% Sauvignon Blanc, 13% Semillon and 1% Nouvelle grapes grown in the Western Cape area of South Africa. It is a nice white wine with clear light color with a greenish tinge, fresh and delicate fruit aroma, fresh and crisp taste with hints of figs, sweet melon and other tropical fruits and a gentle and pleasant aftertaste.
